Windows Users (If "Access denied" or device missing):
Windows locks active network adapters away from browsers. To allow Edge/Chrome to flash or restore:
  1. Download and open Zadig.
  2. Go to Options → enable List All Devices.
  3. In the dropdown, select your adapter:
    • When flashing: Apple USB Ethernet Adapter (05AC:1402)
    • When restoring: AX88772 (0B95:7720)
  4. Ensure the target driver on the right is set to WinUSB.
  5. Click Install Driver or Replace / Reinstall Driver.
Note: Android devices with a USB OTG adapter do not need Zadig and work plug-and-play.

Outdated Tools Notice

The script below is the old local method which requires Linux and asix_eepromtool to dump and flash the adapter EEPROM. If you are comfortable using asix_eepromtool, the Python script should be easy for you to get working.
